The Shift Supervisor role at Starbucks in Modesto, CA is a part-time, on-site position responsible for leading the store team during assigned shifts. Day-to-day, the Shift Supervisor supports store operations by coordinating partner activities, ensuring quality beverages and food are prepared consistently, and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment. This role helps manage the flow of customers, supports cash handling and store opening/closing procedures, and ensures adherence to Starbucks standards and policies.

The Shift Supervisor coaches and guides partners, supports training, and helps foster a positive, inclusive work culture focused on great customer service and teamwork. The role also assists in handling customer concerns and contributes to meeting store performance and safety goals.

• Experience in retail, hospitality, or customer service, with the ability to deliver friendly, efficient, and consistent service.
• Basic leadership and team coordination skills, including the ability to delegate tasks, motivate partners, and provide coaching during shifts.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers, partners, and managers.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, maintain store cleanliness, and support inventory and cash-handling procedures.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, work in a fast-paced environment, and perform moderate physical tasks such as lifting and moving products.
• Reliability and flexibility to work varied schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Prior supervisory experience in a retail or food service environment is beneficial but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
