Senior Oncology Specialist – Modesto, California.

Amgen is seeking a qualified oncology professional to serve as the primary contact for medical professionals, providing current and comprehensive clinical knowledge of Amgen’s products and effectively communicating their clinical and economic benefits.

In this role you will build and execute a territory plan, develop marketing strategies, analyze sales activity, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to achieve or exceed sales targets while supporting patients’ needs.

• Create and execute a comprehensive territory plan, including delivering branded sales messages, executing planned programs, and scheduling and following‑up with medical educational programs.
• Utilize internal and external relationships to service and manage accounts, ensuring product access, resolving reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
• Craft an effective marketing strategy to drive sales.
• Analyze the effectiveness of sales activities and territory data, and develop territory plans in collaboration with the District Manager.
• Maintain passion for products throughout the sales cycle, building brand awareness and consistently prioritizing patient service.
• Partner with colleagues to share best practices, maintain continuous curiosity, and support mutual growth as a Senior Oncology Specialist.
• Leverage passion for oncology and disease‑state awareness to stay informed on industry, regulatory, and competitive changes, delivering agreed results.

• Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales and/or clinical experience in a non‑sales healthcare or scientific field.
• OR Associate degree and 6 years of sales and/or clinical experience in a non‑sales healthcare or scientific field.
• OR High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales and/or clinical experience in a non‑sales healthcare or scientific field.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑moving environment.

• Preferred experience in oncology.
• Three or more years of sales and/or marketing experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or medical device industries.
• Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases.
• Local market knowledge.
• Degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.
• Adaptability with core competencies: planning and organizing; leveraging business, industry, and technical knowledge; communicating with impact; driving for results; and cultivating internal and external relationships.

• Competitive base salary range: $140,465 to $190,041 (U.S. only).
