Location

This position is located in Salida, CA.

Position Summary

Repairs and maintains all types of rental equipment, which includes driving to the machine location.

Qualifications Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Drives to machine location.
  • Handles all types of field service calls.
  • Disassembles unit and inspects parts for wear.
  • Repairs, overhauls, or replaces pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings.
  • Replaces carburetors, blowers, generators, starters, pumps, and distributors.
  • Repairs leaks in radiator.
  • Repairs or adjusts headlights, radios, heaters, mirrors, and windshield wipers.
  • Has working knowledge of ignition system, lights, and instrument panels.
  • Realigns and adjusts brakes.
  • Writes service reports.
  • Orders parts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write service reports.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small‑group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Education and/or Experience

High school or GED and/or five years of equipment experience are required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must have a valid driver license class C or higher. Must have a clean D.M.V. report.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands and fingers to handle and feel objects, tools, and controls and to reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee frequently works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Compensation

Pay Range: $36.00 – $38.00 hourly, dependent on knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the responsibilities of the job.
