Maintenance Technician | Bakery Equipment & Facility Support
Location: Mokena, IL
Shift: 2nd Shift (5:00 PM – 3:30 AM); weekend availability required.
Pay: $30–$38 /hr (based on experience) – annual salary $62,000–$80,000.
Role SummaryThe Maintenance Technician will support day‑to‑day production by maintaining bakery equipment, responding to breakdowns, and performing preventive maintenance across mixers, ovens, conveyors, packaging lines, and facility systems in a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment.
Minimum Requirements- 2+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in food, bakery, or high‑speed manufacturing.
- Experience maintaining Auto‑Bake Serpentine ovens.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
- Comfortable working in fast‑paced environments and able to independently solve issues.
- Ability to read equipment manuals, schematics, and basic mechanical diagrams.
- Must have own hand tools; secure onsite toolbox provided.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Welding/fabrication experience.
- Familiarity with automated bakery systems and industrial ovens.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights.
- Ability to work around heat and noise in a food production setting.
- Competitive pay $30–$38 /hr (based on experience).

- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues on mixers, ovens, conveyors, cooling tunnels, and automated packaging equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections to minimize downtime.
- Support changeovers and production line setups.
- Replace worn parts (belts, bearings, sprockets, seals, etc.).
- Maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including leak repairs and valve adjustments.
- Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and power tools safely.
- Conduct minor fabrication tasks (cutting, grinding, drilling).
- Document repairs, parts usage, and downtime activity.
- Follow GMPs, PPE use, and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Sanitation teams to maintain a clean and efficient operation.
