This combined position cooperates with staff and students to address the educational needs of K‑8 learners. In the library coordinator role you will maintain a diverse media collection, facilitate library lessons, and coordinate student and staff use of media center resources. As the visual arts teacher you will instruct art concepts, integrate fine art examples and children’s literature, and collaborate with teachers to integrate visual arts with music, literacy, and technology for student showcase performances 1–2 times per year.

• Library Coordinator
  • Development of innovative lessons that motivate students to read, write, view, speak, and listen for intrinsic satisfaction.
  • Guidance of students to become critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users of information.
  • Integration of selected literature during library lessons that connect to identified visual arts and music themes.
  • Collaboration with educators to strengthen connections between research needs, curricular content, learning outcomes, and information resources.
  • Maintenance of library circulation database.
  • Orientation of students to library procedures and expectations.
  • Oversight of OBOB program and Read Across America assembly and events.
  • Coordination of a minimum of two book fairs each year.
  • Integration of new technologies into learning environments.
  • Facilitation of library and instruction to K‑6 students as needed.
  • Maintenance of the media center department budget.
  • Maintenance of partnership with Molalla Library and communication of Book Mobile, library events, and summer reading programs to students and parents.
• Visual Arts Teacher
  • Integration of art lessons with overarching integrated arts themes.
  • Demonstration of tools of inquiry and structures of the visual arts, effectively transmitting knowledge to students.
  • Engagement of every student in grade‑level‑appropriate learning experiences promoting artistic and intellectual development.
  • Teaching of 7th/8th grade art elective class 3 days a week.
  • Performance of other duties as assigned.

• Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Elementary teaching license, or willingness to pursue licensure/charter school registry.
  • First Aid and CPR certificates.
• Preferred qualifications:
  • Background in literacy; reading endorsement.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
