Molalla River School District is actively recruiting for a 0.4 FTE Occupational Therapist for the school year.
$800 annual professional practices stipend in addition to annual salary.
Job Goals- Support and consult with the classroom teacher regarding ways to modify instruction and materials for students with motor and sensory motor needs as related to their disability.
- Provide specially designed instruction to assist students in the acquisition of skills and knowledge necessary to achieve the goals of the Individual Education Plan (IEP), as well as the State Benchmark Standards.
- Ensure that all district, state, and federal guidelines regarding pre-referrals (SST), referrals, testing, recordkeeping and service delivery for students with disabilities are strictly followed.
- Develop appropriate occupational therapy goals and Present Levels of Performance for the Individual Education Plan (IEP) for identified students who qualify for occupational therapy services.
- Coordinate service delivery with building staffs and members of the IEP teams as requested.
- Develop a positive working relationship with students, staff, administration, parents and community.
- Holds a valid Oregon Teaching license and/or a Occupational Therapist License and Certification.
- Successful Occupational Therapist experience.
- Possesses knowledge of child growth and development at each level of instruction.
- Possesses functional computer literacy, knowledge of word processing and an understanding of how computers can assist instruction.
- Maintains satisfactory attendance as defined in District policy and regulations.
- Provides specially designed instruction which focuses on the individual needs of the student and the achievement of the state content and performance standards.
- In preparation for instruction, addresses both short- and long-term learning goals. Shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.
- Provides developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
- Works cooperatively with classroom teachers who have students with disabilities assigned to their rooms. Assists in the diagnosis and instructional planning for identified students, monitors the I.E.P. and makes specific recommendations to teachers regarding the need for adaptations and modifications in instructional strategies and materials.
- Maintains professional competence through inservice education activities provided by the District and/or in self-selected professional growth activities.
- Uses a variety of formal and informal assessments to diagnose and monitor student progress and achievement of the instructional objectives.
- Consults with, trains and monitors Instructional Assistants regarding the I.E.P. goals of the students with disabilities.
- Prepares and maintains accurate and complete records regarding the pre-referral process, referrals, testing, I.E.P decisions, I.E.P. files and a census of identified students as required by law and district policy.
- Maintains professional confidentiality concerning individual student data and achievement.
- Frequently communicates to students and parents the level of student achievement towards achieving the I.E.P. goals and state standards.

TS parents/guardians regarding a student's behavior as outlined in school and District policies. - Takes all reasonable precautions to provide a safe, secure learning environment.
- Maintains a high level of professional integrity by adhering to the Teacher Standards and Practices requirements for an Ethical Educator, (as written in the Staff Handbook) as well as Board Policy and State Law.
- Participates in various meetings (e.g. staff, SST, IEP, parent conferences, in-service training, etc.) for the purpose of receiving and/or providing information or sharing expertise.
