Utility Worker I – Public Works Department
This full‑time position provides maintenance, repair, and construction of public infrastructure and property under the guidance of the Maintenance Section Superintendent.
ResponsibilitiesPerform a wide variety of duties including:
- Operate City’s light and medium construction equipment and all power and hand tools.
- Apply construction and repair techniques used in public facilities maintenance.
- Read and interpret construction plans and record drawings.
- Use personal computers and related software applications.
- Complete carpentry, plumbing, and mechanical projects.
- Promote positive public relations and provide good customer service.
- Communicate and interact cooperatively with coworkers, supervisors, contractors, and the general public.
Education and experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Oregon Commercial Driver’s License or ability to obtain within six months of employment.
Preferred experience:
hand tools and other power tools.
$59,508 - $72,401 Plus Benefits and Retirement
Ability to earn 2% Incentive Pay for Fiscal Year 26-27
