Position: School Social Worker @ District (Location TBD)
Duties

* Adheres to the Board of Education policies and procedures.

* Strives to implement by the performance of job responsibilities, the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.

* Reports suspected child abuse/neglect cases as required by statute and district policy.

* Works cooperatively with other school personnel in the identification, diagnosis, referral and remediation of individual students with specialized needs. participates, as necessary, as a member of building problem-solving teams in the Response to Intervention process.

* Attends staff meetings and professional development as reasonably required.

* Helps to organize and/or participates in professional development for staff and administration.

* Meets, as required and within reason, with staff, students, parents, and/or consultants.

* Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, or building procedures.

* Prepares reports as required by the school or the district.

* Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.

* Provides individual evaluations to identify social and emotional problems of students as a part of special education evaluations. Successfully integrates the Illinois Social-Emotional Learning Standards in Addressing student plans.

* Participates on IEP teams for the process of student evaluation, initial placement, annual reviews and reevaluations as required by regulations.

* Provides appropriate counseling services for students and families as determined by the IEP team and specified on the Individual Education Program.

* Serves as liaison between students and their families with community mental health and social service agencies.

* Provides consultation and assistance to the professional staff in the area of student behavior as part of the IEP and RTL problem-solving process.

* Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must hold an Illinois Professional Educator License with a Social Worker Endorsement.

Placed as appropriate on the Teachers' Salary Schedule (base- $48,324.)
