Instructor – Speech
Black Hawk College is seeking a Speech instructor to join the ESL, Languages, Humanities, Philosophy, and Speech Department.
ResponsibilitiesFaculty members are expected to encourage learning by preparing appropriate syllabi; developing lectures, discussions, and other presentations or activities to enhance the students' educational experience; developing, and executing appropriate methods of evaluating student performance; developing, securing, and maintaining the equipment and other instructional materials essential to the presentation of the classroom material.
Qualifications- Master's degree in speech communication, speech studies, or related field required.
- Experience in teaching public speaking preferred.
- Oral English proficiency required.
Pay is commensurate with education and experience.
- Minimum starting pay for adjunct faculty (Fall 2024):
- Less Than a Master's Degree – $693.36 per equated hour
- Master's Degree – $808.92 per equated hour
- Doctorate – $866.70 per equated hour
Any instructor hired at Black Hawk College will be required to submit official transcripts at his/her own expense. Transcripts, once submitted, become property of Black Hawk College.
