General Information & Responsibilities
Black Hawk College seeks adjunct/part‑time instructors for the Nursing Assistant Program. Classes are available at the QC Campus in Moline, the East Campus in Galva, and local area clinical sites.
ResponsibilitiesFaculty members are expected to encourage learning by preparing appropriate syllabi; developing lectures, discussions, and other presentations or activities to enhance the students' educational experience; and executing appropriate methods of evaluating student performance. They will also develop, secure, and maintain the equipment and other instructional materials essential to the presentation of the classroom material.
Qualifications- Registered nurse with current Illinois nursing license.
- One year of clinical experience in long‑term care nursing.
- Teaching experience required or completion of the Illinois Department of Public Health training program prior to employment.
- Must be approved by the Illinois Department of Public Health for theory instruction, clinical instruction, and Alzheimer’s content.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing plus completion of the “Train‑the‑trainer” course.
- Oral English proficiency.
Any instructor hired at Black Hawk College will be required to submit official transcripts at his/her own expense. Transcripts, once submitted, become property of Black Hawk College.
Compensation- Less than a Master’s Degree: $693.36 per equated hour.
- Master’s Degree: $808.92 per equated hour.
- Doctorate: $866.70 per equated hour.
