Adjunct Faculty - Biology Instructor

General Information & Responsibilities

Seeking adjunct instructors to teach courses in non‑majors biology, human anatomy and physiology, and/or microbiology during the regular academic year and summer sessions in person at our Quad Cities Campus in Moline, IL.

• Encourage learning by preparing appropriate syllabi.
• Develop lectures, discussions, and other presentations or activities to enhance the students’ educational experience.
• Execute appropriate methods of evaluating student performance.
• Secure and maintain equipment and other instructional materials essential to the presentation of classroom material.

• Master's degree in the Biological Sciences required.
• Research or field experience in biological sciences and experience teaching college‑adult level introductory biology courses preferred.
• Background teaching subjects such as anatomy & physiology, microbiology, botany, or zoology may be required depending on the position being filled.
• Demonstrated oral English proficiency for classroom instruction.

Minimum starting pay for adjunct faculty (Fall 2024):

• Less than a Master’s Degree = $693.36 per equated hour
• Master’s Degree = $808.92 per equated hour
• Doctorate = $866.70 per equated hour

• Hours per week vary by course load, semester, and schedule.
• Any instructor hired must submit official transcripts at their own expense; transcripts become property of the college.
