Black Hawk College seeks Adjunct Faculty in our Chemistry Department.
Instruction at Quad Cities Campus in Moline and/or East Campus in Galva, IL.
Description of DutiesFaculty member is expected to encourage learning by preparing appropriate syllabi; by developing lectures, discussions, and other presentations or activities to enhance the students educational experience; develops, and executes appropriate methods of evaluating students performance; develops, secures, and maintains the equipment and other instructional materials essential to the presentation of the classroom material.
Education & ExperienceCHEMISTRY – M.S. or M.A. in Chemistry is required. Teaching experience and industrial experience in chemistry is preferred. Must possess demonstrated oral English proficiency for classroom instruction.
Compensation & BenefitsPay is commensurate with education and experience. Minimum starting pay for adjunct faculty (as of Fall 2024):
- Less Than a Master’s Degree = $693.36 per equated hour
- Master’s Degree = $808.92 per equated hour
- Doctorate = $866.70 per equated hour
Core Benefits for Qualifying Adjunct Faculty (To qualify for benefits, an adjunct faculty member must qualify for membership in the Adjunct Faculty Bargaining Unit at the beginning of the second consecutive semester of teaching six (6) equated credit hours or more per semester or have 160 contact hours per semester).
