Consumer Underwriter

Join Team IHMVCU! We're looking for a detail‑oriented Consumer Underwriter to join our team. • Review, validate, and evaluate consumer loan applications received through all lending channels.
• Analyze loan applications and supporting documentation to assess risk and make lending decisions within authorized approval limits.
• Request additional information when needed to ensure complete and accurate underwriting decisions.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with members, team members, and business partners.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and Credit Union policies, regulations, and lending guidelines.
• Exercise sound judgment and critical thinking to evaluate unique lending scenarios.
• Research unfamiliar underwriting situations and present well‑supported recommendations and solutions to leadership.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent critical thinking and decision‑making abilities.
• Ability to work independently while following established policies and guidelines.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
