Compensation: $26.00 – $34.00 per hour (or negotiable per-test rates)

Schedule Options:
Flexible scheduling (8-hour, 10-hour, or 12-hour shifts; Day/Night shifts, Monday–Friday, with weekends as needed)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sleep Technologist to join our expanding neurology and diagnostic care team in Moline, Illinois. Operating within an on-site outpatient sleep laboratory, the Sleep Technologist is responsible for comprehensive sleep study preparation, patient setup, polysomnographic data recording, monitoring, and scoring to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders.

Core Responsibilities

  • Polysomnographic Testing:
    Prepare, set up, and collect comprehensive polysomnographic data across routine, split-night, or specialty sleep studies in accordance with established medical protocols.
  • Patient Setup & Care:
    Explain procedures to patients, apply electrodes and clinical sensors according to accepted standards, and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the diagnostic process.
  • Therapy Titration:
    Administer and titrate positive airway pressure (PAP) devices, oxygen therapy, and other intervention modalities as indicated by physician orders and clinical guidelines.
  • Data Scoring & Documentation:
    Monitor live recording data, score sleep stages and respiratory/movement events, and assemble clear, accurate diagnostic reports for physician review.
  • Equipment & Quality Maintenance:
    Ensure all sleep testing equipment and room setups are properly cleaned, calibrated, and maintained to adhere to strict quality and safety guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education:

    High School Diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited polysomnographic technology program preferred.
  • Certifications:
  • Active credentialing in sleep technology—such as Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Certified Polysomnographic Technologist (CPSGT)—is strongly preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification required.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical sleep testing experience preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of healthcare laboratory experience preferred.
  • Skills & Attributes:
  • Strong technical proficiency with sleep monitoring systems and diagnostic software.
  • Excellent interpersonal, patient communication, and observational skills.
  • Ability to work independently during night shifts or flexible scheduling blocks.
