Custodian - East

Overview

Black Hawk College is hiring a Custodian to keep campus areas clean, operate floor machines, and work with facilities staff to maintain a safe, welcoming environment.

• Operate floor scrubbers, buffers, and power vacuums to clean floors, walls, ceilings, and partitions.
• Supply and restock cleaning materials, ensuring 100% coverage of restrooms, food service areas, and common spaces.
• Move furniture, set up tear downs, and make minor repairs on equipment as directed.
• Lock/unlock doors, report security issues to Public Safety, and follow written custodial procedures.
• Coordinate with Lead Custodian, Superintendent, and other custodians to meet cleaning schedules and quality standards.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months of experience operating and maintaining floor scrubbers or buffers required.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
• Strong attention to detail, reliable and punctual, and effective communication skills.
