Position Title: Assembler

Wage: $17.00-$19.00 per hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 6:00am-4:30pm (Mon-Thurs)

QPS Employment Group has a great Assembler position available at a company in Moline, IL. This is a 1st shift position with the opportunity for hire.

Assembler Responsibilities
  • Perform assembly operations on electronic and mechanical assemblies, including assembly kitting.
  • Utilize written instructions, drawings, sketches, pictures, and prints during the production process.
  • Interpret and follow wiring diagrams, component polarity, and electronic component specifications.
  • Set up and operate hand tools, power tools, and automated equipment such as part cut-and-form machines.
  • Use scales for counting parts and a tape measure with accuracy to 1/8 inch.
  • Perform cable and wire terminations and apply crimping specifications using both manual and semi-automatic crimping tools.
  • Track time and move product through the production system using a tablet.
  • Wear and properly use non-static electricity vests to prevent quality issues.
  • Perform basic soldering tasks while wearing required PPE including leather gloves and safety glasses (if soldering).
  • Maintain productivity standards and meet production deadlines in a manufacturing environment.
  • Periodically lift up to 30 lbs. as required.
  • Work in a stationary position—sitting or standing—for an entire 10-hour shift.
Assembler Requirements
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to read and accurately interpret written and verbal work instructions.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches, and wiring diagrams.
  • Proficient in reading a tape measure to 1/8 inch.
  • Proficient in using a tablet for time tracking and product movement.
  • Strong manual dexterity and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. periodically.
  • Knowledge of electronic component types and polarity.
  • Willingness to learn cable/wire termination and crimping specifications.
  • Preferred:
    Soldering experience and basic soldering skills.
