Position OverviewThe Center for Neurosciences is seeking a motivated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing neurology practice in Moline, Illinois. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our neurologist and clinical team to evaluate and manage patients with a variety of neurological conditions. We are looking for a provider who demonstrates excellent clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and a commitment to high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities- Evaluate new and established neurology patients.
- Obtain comprehensive medical histories and perform physical and neurological examinations.
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physician.
- Order and review appropriate diagnostic testing, laboratory studies, imaging, EEGs, and other neurological testing.
- Provide follow-up care and medication management.
- Participate in inpatient care of neurology patients at Unity Point Hospital.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
- Accurately document patient encounters in the electronic medical record.
- Coordinate care with hospitals, specialists, primary care providers, pharmacies, and other healthcare professionals.
- Assist with medication prior authorizations and clinical documentation when necessary.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, Medicare, and applicable federal and Illinois healthcare regulations.
- Participate in practice initiatives designed to improve patient access, quality of care, and clinical efficiency.
- Current Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Illinois, or eligibility to obtain Illinois licensure.
- Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program.
- Appropriate national board certification.
- Current DEA registration or eligibility to obtain DEA registration when required.
- Excellent clinical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the supervising physician and clinical staff.
- Strong commitment to professional and compassionate patient care.
- Previous experience in neurology, neuroscience, internal medicine, primary care, or another related specialty.
- Experience with eClinical
Works (eCW) or another electronic health record system. - Experience managing patients with neurological conditions.
- Prior outpatient specialty-practice experience.
- Full-time position
- Monday through Friday
