An Account Executive (AE) is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of business.
You will be responsible for qualifying accounts, nurturing existing opportunities within your portfolio and managing the sales cycle from qualification through close.
The AE also works alongside Account Managers and Operations Support teams to ensure their portfolio is serviced in accordance with customer expectations. This role will be required to build and maintain strong client relationships, effectively negotiate, and maintain a consistent focus on achieving monthly sales targets.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute account growth plans to significantly increase wallet share within their accounts
- Qualify and convert clients into reliable, baseline customers
- Drive revenue and profit growth by identifying and closing opportunities
- Collaborate across the organization on day-to-day service execution and volume retention
- Collaborate with carrier sales team to generate capacity for expansion opportunities
- Develop a deep understanding of customers network, pain points, needs and serve as internal advocate for them
- Establish, nurture, and grow customer relationships.
- Drive service excellence with a focus on achieving budgets and driving continuous improvement.
- Understand internal and external buying influences, budgets and purchasing criteria for all assigned accounts.
- Prepare and present quarterly business reports for customers as necessary.
- Provide quick, accurate, professional resolution to escalated pick-up, in-transit, and delivery-related issues.
- Remain fully informed of all rules and regulations, and other industry requirements related to brokering FTL and LTL shipments.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills plus a can-do attitude.
- Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and goal-driven.
- Thrives in a fast-paced and sometimes demanding environment.
- Proven ability to independently identify and close on-sell & upsell opportunities
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position may have future supervisory responsibilities.
TravelLess than 10% travel is expected for this position.
Required education and experienceBachelors degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
2+ years of experience in the transportation or logistics industry, preferably in a customer-facing capacity, (Or similar experience).
