Territory Sales Manager – Northern Illinois
We are looking for a motivated self‑starter to lead online auction sales of used equipment in Northern Illinois. The role focuses on the construction, agriculture, fleet, government, and lending sectors within the counties of Boone, Bureau, Carroll, DeKalb, Grundy, Henry, Jo Daviess, Kane, Kendall, LaSalle, Lee, Marshall, McHenry, Mercer, Ogle, Putnam, Rock Island, Stark, Stephenson, Whiteside, and Winnebago.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain relationships with industry partners and potential customers to increase visibility and brand recognition.
- Educate clients in the assigned territory about equipment auction services and how they can use them to buy or sell used equipment.
- Collect and enter customer information and opportunities in CRM for effective communication.
- Execute and support all phases of the auction process.
- Represent the company positively to heavy equipment owners, buyers, and sellers.
- Promote upcoming auctions through equipment promotion of auction inventory and packages.
- Manage buyer and seller relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Respond to inbound sales inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Represent Purple Wave at trade shows, conferences, and similar events to promote services and assets.

Qualifications- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum three (3) years of successful sales experience.
- Ability to travel extensively when required.
- Knowledge of construction, agriculture, fleet, or government industries.
- Proficiency in using technology, tools, and systems to share information electronically.
- Self‑motivated and able to take the initiative to close deals.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- High ethical standards and strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- May be requested to complete a skills assessment test.
- U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.
- Ability to successfully complete a background check.
- Valid state driver’s license in compliance with the relevant jurisdiction.
- Full‑time salaried exempt, not eligible for overtime.
- Flexible schedule and ability to work outside standard business hours.
- Estimated travel up to 75% of the time.
- Physically demanding role requiring climbing, lifting, and moving equipment up to 50 lb.
- Competitive base salary paid bi‑weekly and first‑year commission estimate.
- Commission paid monthly based on contracted sales revenue, plus additional commissions for meeting target values.
