DESCRIPTION
The Home Child Care Network, part of SAL Community Services, is the Quad Cities area’s leading provider of early childhood care and education. We provide a safe, secure and supportive environment centered on how playing can charge the mind of the children we care for.

As a Home Child Care Network (HCCN) Mental Health Specialist on our team, you will work with licensed, home child care providers. This means you’ll do things like:

  • Conduct in-home observations to provide consultation, coaching and child development information related to social emotional development and mental health. Track all home visits in a home visiting report.
  • Provide guidance to specialists and home child care providers on selecting, implementing, and interpreting social emotional screening and observations and findings.
  • Meet with home child care providers to review observations to develop and implement plans.
  • Meet with families to consult on child and family needs and create or follow-up on plans to support those needs.
  • Collaborate with local agencies to assist families with resources as needed and effective ways to work with and support young children.
Education and Experience

Required: Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field. At least three years of experience is required in social work field working with families and children.

Preferred: In addition to required education and experience, experience working with children ages birth to 5, offering observations, interventions and referrals. Experience in presenting trainings on inclusion, equity, diversity, and or social emotional topics preferred but not required.
