The KGS Development Program is a 4‑month developmental program that provides cross‑functional, hands‑on exposure in the field to deliver a holistic view of Kodiak's business. You’ll spend time rotating through various field locations and support areas such as supply chain, set‑crew, overhaul and more, while receiving enhanced training and development to prepare you for your future with Kodiak.
- Rotate through the functional areas within the field operations throughout the country.
- Participate in the Kodiak Safety Programs and proactively uphold the KGS Safety Culture.
- Participate in various developmental trainings.
- Train and operate mechanical equipment under the supervision of mentors.
Intern‑level position that assists in the running of one or more compression jobs. Requires entry‑level diagnostic and repair skills. Candidates should be currently enrolled or have recently graduated from a Technical School program or a similar program.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Performs job activities in a manner consistent with Kodiak’s procedures, protocols, goals, and objectives.
- Assists with troubleshooting basic issues and is consistently building troubleshooting skill set.
- Attends and participates in all HSE meetings and ensures adherence to all HSE protocols.
- Completes the proper reports and actions required by the area’s operating procedures and policies.
- Completes additional tasks as assigned.
- Travel required up to 100% of the time.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Currently enrolled in a Technical School (Natural Gas Compression program preferred) or has recently graduated from a Technical School.
- Some knowledge in gas processes and mechanics of motor compressors (Waukesha, Ariel, Caterpillar, etc.).
- Main competencies include teamwork, effective communication (written and oral), analytical capability, strong mechanical aptitude, self‑motivation and self‑control, initiative, planning, problem‑solving, and customer focus.
- Basic knowledge of compressor packages, including some components and systems.
- Working knowledge of relevant HSE procedures and regulations.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English is required.
- Valid Driver’s License with a Motor Vehicle Record within the acceptable parameters of Company Policy is required.
- Requires operation of heavy equipment.
- Requires employee to stand for up to 75% of the time.
- Requires employee to sit for up to 25% of the time.
- Requires employee to climb ladders or stairs to inspect, repair, and paint equipment and must be able to maintain balance on stairs and/or ladders without assistance.
- Must be able to communicate and respond to coworkers, customers, and emergency cues/alarms in person and on the telephone, including use of mobile devices.
- Must be able to frequently lift at least 10 pounds; infrequent lifting of more than 50 lbs.
- High noise environment (> 85 dbA) will occur with ear protection.
- Potential, controlled exposure to hazardous chemicals.
- Requires work in outdoor conditions, including extreme heat and extreme cold.
- Requires moving and maintaining self in different positions—stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl—to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
- Must wear all required PPE, including fire‑retardant clothing, hard hats, face shields, hearing protection, safety glasses, and steel‑toed boots.
- Requires frequent use of computer and other office equipment such as a copier, printer, calendar, and telephone.
- Must be able to work under pressure and occasional long or irregular hours.
- Travel requirements, up to 100% of the time.
