Primary Purpose:

The Technology Aide provides essential support for the district's technology infrastructure and empowers faculty with valuable digital skills.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates degree or technical certification in IT, Computer Science or related field preferred.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Strong knowledge in Microsoft Windows operating systems and common software applications
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
Experience:
  • Proven experience in PC and Chromebook hardware and software troubleshooting and repair.
  • 2 years' experience or demonstrated ability to train adult learners on technology concepts.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:

PC and Chromebook Repair
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hardware and software issues for Windows PCs and Chromebooks.
  • Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and component replacements.
  • Install software applications, and drivers.
  • Manage inventory of technology equipment and parts.
Technical Training and Support
  • Develop and deliver engaging training sessions for teachers on the effective use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Provide one-on-one and small group training on Google Workspace tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive).
  • Offer ongoing technical support and guidance to staff regarding technology integration in the classroom.
General Technology Support
  • Assist with network troubleshooting and connectivity issues.
  • Support audio-visual equipment setup and operation for presentations and events.
  • Collaborate with the IT department on larger technology projects and initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean and organized technology workspace.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Tools/Equipment Used:Hand tools and test instruments for electronic repairs and cable installations; standard office equipment including personal computers and peripherals

Posture:Prolonged sitting; regular kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting

Motion:Repetitive hand motion; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; regular walking, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching

Lifting:Frequent moderate lifting and carrying (15-44 pounds)

Environment:Occasional prolonged and irregular hours; frequent on-call and after-hours work; occasional district wide travel; may be required to be on-call 24 hours a day; may be exposed to electrical hazards.

Mental Demands:Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
