Retail & Store Manager
Overview
We’re seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our team to help with store operations, customer service and team development.
Responsibilities- Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
- Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns they may have
- Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor as needed, maintaining seasonal areas
- Perform opening and closing procedures as required
- Process all corporate directives including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests and other communications related to store activities
- Maintain promotional effectiveness of store‑front fixtures and displays
- Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits and receipts)
- Maintain loss prevention and store security, protecting all company assets including cash
- Ensure store areas meet company standards for organization and cleanliness (sales floor, stockroom, bathrooms, floors, etc.)
- Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop store associates to maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment
- Adhere to all policies and procedures including safety guidelines, and ensure all associates follow company policies
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Obtain and maintain required licenses for alcohol and/or tobacco sales if applicable
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
- Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred
- Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to shoulder height and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required
- Ability to work in a high‑energy team environment required
