Responsibilities- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to the apprentice level crew members.
- Install conduit and/or MC‑HL type cable according to the NEC code.
- Sufficiently install and troubleshoot different relay’s, VFD’s, wireless, or hard‑wired instrumentation and controllers.
- Work on different process, compression and metering equipment used in the upstream and midstream sectors of the oilfield.
- Apply knowledge of installing electrical power, control, measurement and safety systems for the upstream and midstream sectors.
- Generate and communicate detailed work records and paperwork.
- Install, calibrate and troubleshoot instrumentation.
- Install, configure and troubleshoot EFM’s.
- Install, configure and troubleshoot radios and cell modems.
- Minimum of five (5) years of instrumentation and electrical experience in the industrial oil and gas sectors.
- Experience in all phases of a project for the installation of instrumentation and electrical systems and/or equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Up-to-date on all the new codes and standards in NFPA 70E (NEC code book).
- Applicable regulatory safety training.
- Proficient in modifications and understanding electrical schematics and drawings.
- Demonstrates an understanding of electrical systems, switch gear, circuit types and can troubleshoot any issues presented.
- Must possess the skill set to work on low voltage and medium voltage equipment and circuits.
- Knowledge of most electrical components commonly found in the oil and gas industry.
- Install, wire and loop‑test PLC’s, RTU’s and EFM’s.
- Work safely and recognize potential hazards.
- Handle pressure and possess positive leadership in difficult or challenging situations.
- Calibrate and troubleshoot process instrumentation.
- Detail‑oriented, results‑driven individual with a commitment to quality, accuracy, and the ability to organize and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and excellent communication (written and oral) skills.
- Strong problem-solving, technical, and functional skills with the ability to multitask and be willing to learn.
- Work collaboratively and cooperatively, take direction, work well in a team environment, and interact with all levels of management, engineering, systems, operations and field personnel.

- Laptop with software for configuration of EFM’s, cell modems and radio networks.
- Willing to work weekends and/or overtime when deadlines or customer requests arise.
- Position primarily in the field; subject to time pressures, constraints, and input from others; need to be fit for duty.
- Valid driver’s license is required; must meet the company’s insurance driving policy requirements.
- Per diem compensation to defray expenses associated with traveling, meals and lodging in accordance with applicable law.
- Subject to background check, drug and alcohol testing, per applicable federal regulations.
- Frequent lifting and carrying of materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Pushing and pulling electrical conduit, trays, and equipment into position.
- Climbing ladders, scaffolding, and manlifts to access work areas at various heights.
- Standing, kneeling, crouching, and bending for extended periods during installation and repair tasks.
- Working in confined spaces and varying environmental conditions including outdoor settings in the field.
- Operating forklifts, manlifts, trenchers, and other mechanical equipment as required.
