RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assist Journeyman or Master Electrician with the installation of conduit, tray, wire and electrical equipment.
* Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a professional manner with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
* Ability to assist in conducting electrical work in accordance with relevant codes, and customer specifications.
* Effectively generate and communicate detailed work records and paperwork.
PHYSICAL ASPECTS OF THE JOB:
* Frequent lifting and carrying of materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
* Pushing and pulling electrical conduit, trays, and equipment into position.
* Climbing ladders, scaffolding, and manlifts to access work areas at various heights.
* Standing, kneeling, crouching, and bending for extended periods during installation and repair tasks.
* Working in confined spaces and varying environmental conditions including outdoor settings in the field. (West Texas and New Mexico).
* Operating forklifts, manlifts, trenchers, and other mechanical equipment as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND
CERTIFICATIONS:
* 0-4 years in the industrial electrical field in upstream Oil & Gas sector.
* Ability to help fabricate and install conduit, tray, wire and electrical equipment.
* Maintains an apprentice card showing that he or she is in an apprenticeship for the state of Texas.
* High School diploma or equivalent.
* Must have a valid driver's license and will need to meet the company and company's insurers driving policy requirements.
* Applicable regulatory safety training is a plus.
* Need to be fit for duty.
SKILLS:
* Knowledge of most electrical components commonly found in the oil and gas industry is a plus.
* Ability to work safely and recognize potential hazards.
* Competent with the use of tools and equipment as it relates to the electrical trade.
PERSONAL RELATION
SKILLS:
* Must be a detail-oriented, results-driven individual with a commitment to quality, accuracy and the ability to organize and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.
* Must possess strong interpersonal and excellent communication (written and oral) skills.
* Must be able to work collaboratively and cooperatively, take direction, work well in a team environment, and interact with all levels of management, engineering, systems, operations and field personnel.
EQUIPMENT USED:
* Multimeter
* Megger
* Amp Probe
* Calibration equipment (Hart, Crystal, Loop calibrators, etc.)
* Handheld electrical tools needed to perform his or her job duties.
* Forklift, Manlift, trencher etc.
WORK
CONDITIONS:
* Applicants need to be local to the west Texas area to work from Big Springs, TX to Carlsbad, NM on short notice.
* Position will work primarily in the field. Subject to time pressures and constraints and is also dependent on input from others.
* Must have a valid driver's license and will need to meet the company's insurers driving policy requirements.
* Subject to a background check, as well as drug and alcohol testing, per applicable federal regulations.
