• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting with at least 3+ years in a leadership role
• Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and familiarity with laws and regulations governing rural telephone company fiscal practices are preferred.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work with little or not supervision.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide supervision, leadership, and employee development to Accounting Staff
• Perform all functions of payroll including quarterly and yearly reports, labor distribution and supporting schedules
  • Assist in preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements
• Perform monthly reconciliations and analysis of general ledger accounts and variances
• Manage banking relationships and treasury functions
  • Assist with annual financial audit
• Prepare and/or supervise the filing of Federal, State, and Local fees as well as reporting to miscellaneous taxing agencies.
• Maintaining a chart of accounts, general ledger, and financial reports
• Assist the Controller in ensuring that necessary accounting controls and procedures are in place to protect the company’s assets.
