The Town of Moncks Corner is seeking an experienced, energetic, and visionary Economic Development Director to lead business recruitment, investment attraction, redevelopment initiatives, and commercial growth efforts during a transformational period in the Town's history.
Located in the heart of Berkeley County, one of the fastest-growing counties in South Carolina, Moncks Corner is experiencing significant residential growth and increasing demand for commercial services, retail opportunities, restaurants, entertainment, and employment centers. Town leadership recognizes that a thriving community requires both residential and commercial growth and is committed to creating opportunities for investment and redevelopment that enhance quality of life for current and future residents.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a Mayor, Town Council, and Administration that are aligned in their commitment to expanding Moncks Corner's commercial tax base, strengthening its historic downtown, and supporting responsible economic growth.

The PositionReporting directly to the Town Administrator, the Economic Development Director serves as the Town's lead professional for economic development, business recruitment, redevelopment strategy, and investment attraction.
The Director will:
- Lead implementation of the Town's economic development and redevelopment strategies.
- Recruit retail, restaurant, office, hospitality, entertainment, and service‑sector businesses.
- Build relationships with developers, investors, brokers, property owners, business leaders, and regional partners.
- Support redevelopment initiatives and investment opportunities throughout the community.
- Coordinate economic development activities with Town departments and external stakeholders.
- Serve as Executive Director of Corner Renaissance, Inc., advancing redevelopment and revitalization efforts that support Town goals.
- Develop marketing strategies and promotional materials that showcase Moncks Corner's opportunities for business and investment.
- Track and advance initiatives that increase commercial occupancy, private investment, and economic vitality.
The Economic Development Director works collaboratively with the Community Development Department and other Town departments to support commercial growth and redevelopment initiatives. Planning, zoning, permitting, development review, and code administration functions remain under the direction of the Community Development Department.
