Make an impact in the lives of students by providing specialized instruction and support within a welcoming elementary school environment. This contracted opportunity allows Special Education professionals to utilize their expertise and passion in a variety of settings, including self-contained autism classrooms, preschool, and programs serving students with emotional disturbance, mild, or multiple severe disabilities. Assignments will be matched according to your preferred caseload, ensuring the best fit between your experience and the needs of the schools.

Key

Qualifications:
  • Valid South Carolina Special Education teaching certification (excluding Teachers for Tomorrow)
  • Demonstrated experience working in elementary or high school special education environments
  • Strong understanding of a variety of disabilities, including autism, emotional disturbance, multiple severe disabilities, and mild disabilities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, administrators, and families
  • Commitment to providing inclusive, differentiated, and individualized instruction and support
  • Willingness to work onsite at assigned locations
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that address students unique learning needs
  • Foster a positive, structured classroom environment promoting academic, social, and emotional growth
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and related service staff for inclusive programming
  • Maintain accurate documentation and provide regular progress updates to families and school teams
  • Adapt instruction and classroom strategies to address a diverse range of learning needs
  • Engage in ongoing professional development tied to best practices in special education

This rewarding contract begins August 5, 2026, and runs through June 4, 2027, with a 37.5-hour work week in an onsite setting. Schools are eager for educators ready to make a difference across multiple elementary campuses.
