Water Permitting Engineer – Environmental Utilities
We’re supporting a major utility provider in hiring an experienced Environmental Engineer to lead water, wastewater, and stormwater permitting efforts across the state. What You’ll Do- Manage environmental permitting for wastewater, stormwater, and water‑related projects
- Prepare, submit, track, renew, and close out permits
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations
- Conduct front‑end environmental due diligence and coordinate Phase I ESAs
- Support species/habitat reviews, cultural resource surveys, and environmental constraints analyses
- Assist with NEPA and state‑level environmental review processes
- Prepare and review environmental drawings, calculations, and technical documentation
- Perform site assessments, field inspections, and data analysis
- Develop technical reports and maintain organized compliance records
- Collaborate with engineering, construction, operations, legal, and regulatory agencies
- Advise teams on environmental impacts, mitigation measures, and permitting requirements
- Support scopes of work, bid documents, and monitoring programs
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical Engineering, or related ABET‑accredited field
- 5+ years of experience in water/wastewater permitting
- Strong knowledge of NEPA, South Carolina regulations, and federal/state/local permitting processes
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
PE license
Compensation:$95,000/yr to $140,000/yr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
