Sign Language Interpreter; ASL Moncks Corner, South Carolina

Step into a dynamic role supporting students as a Sign Language Interpreter for the upcoming academic year. This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in an educational setting, ensuring accessibility and inclusion for deaf or hard-of-hearing learners.

• Current South Carolina Sign Language Interpreter (SC SLI) certification is required
• Experience working as a sign language interpreter in educational settings is highly preferred
• Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Ability to interpret in both individual and group learning environments
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and students
• Committed to maintaining confidentiality and supporting student privacy
• Reliable and dedicated to onsite presence throughout the contract period

• Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation during classroom instruction, activities, and school events
• Support communication between students, teachers, and peers to facilitate full participation
• Adapt interpreting style to meet student needs and educational goals
• Collaborate with school staff to ensure smooth integration of interpreted services
• Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by school protocols
• Foster an inclusive learning environment and advocate for student accessibility
