We're currently hiring for a Purchasing Coordinator on behalf of a client of ours in Moncks Corner, SC!

Job Description

The Purchasing Coordinator supports the timely availability of spare parts to keep customer service and aftermarket operations running smoothly. This role converts approved demand into accurate purchase orders, follows up with suppliers, and executes day-to-day buying activities within established purchasing, inventory, and prioritization guidelines. It offers a strong development opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in procurement, especially candidates with backgrounds in Accounts Payable, Inventory Control, Customer Service, or similar operational roles who bring strong attention to detail, urgency, coordination, and system discipline.

Responsibilities

+ Manage purchase requisitions and create purchase orders accurately and on time in line with established procedures.

+ Support the buying process for service and non-production requirements, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement.

+ Follow approved suppliers, pricing structures, and purchasing procedures to maintain compliance and consistency.

+ Help resolve invoice and order discrepancies by coordinating with internal teams and suppliers.

+ Act on prioritization from Customer Service and Logistics teams to ensure urgent and service-critical parts are ordered and delivered promptly.

+ Coordinate with Planning and Inventory teams to support stock availability and respond to system demand signals within defined frameworks.

+ Escalate exceptions, such as unusual demand or system constraints, to the appropriate stakeholders in a timely manner.

+ Communicate proactively with suppliers to follow up on deliveries, expedite orders, and provide clear updates to internal stakeholders.

+ Escalate supply risks, delays, or urgent issues clearly and promptly within defined escalation guidelines.

+ Maintain accurate purchasing, order, and material master data in ERP systems, including SAP, to support reliable reporting and decision-making.

+ Perform data entry and order entry activities with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

+ Support vendor management activities by maintaining supplier information, tracking performance, and assisting with issue resolution.

+ Assist with administrative support tasks related to purchasing, logistics, invoicing, and supply chain documentation.

+ Use Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools to prepare reports, track orders, and maintain purchasing and inventory records.

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams across supply chain, logistics, customer service, and finance to ensure smooth end-to-end order flow.

Essential Skills

+ Certificate, diploma, or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, Business, Finance, or a related field.

+ Experience in Inventory Control, Customer Service, purchasing support, logistics coordination, Accounts Payable, or a similar operational environment.

+ Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

+ Comfort working with Microsoft Teams, Excel, and standard Microsoft Office tools.

+ Good communication skills and confidence working across internal teams and with external suppliers.

+ Demonstrated computer skills, including data entry, order entry, and use of office productivity tools.

+

Experience with purchase orders, order management, and basic purchasing or buying activities.

+ Ability to follow established purchasing, inventory, and vendor management processes with discipline and consistency.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Moncks Corner, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
