If you have an eye for detail and enjoy solving problems, we may have the perfect position for you at Sea Fox Boats! We are looking for an experienced lamination quality control technician who will inspect boat hulls, decks, and finished products looking for any defects. You must be passionate about ensuring high quality standards are met on a daily basis!
This is a critical role in the production of our beautiful boats.
- Perform quality control audits to approve finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual inspection and measurement tests with basic tools, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.
- Ensure the lamination process is followed to Sea Fox standards.
- Maintain and process proper Sea Fox Quality Control documentation.
- Ensure parts are being laminated according to the lamination schedule and built to the Sea Fox work order.
- Inspect boat surfaces for defects such as air bubbles, cuts, cracks,, chips, and thickness of fiberglass, etc.
- Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, instruction, test methodology, quality plans, documents and reports.
- Work closely with department managers, supervisors, and team leads to ensure good quality product and workmanship standards are being met.
- Document findings and make appropriate recommendations for improvement.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean work area.
- Thoroughly understand boat building process
- The ideal candidate will have past lamination and/or lamination quality control experience
- Minimum of 2 years stable work history either in the boating or automotive finishing industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication, including documentation and record keeping skills
- Be a go-getter and a self-starter, have (and maintain) a positive attitude and the ability to work well with others
- Strong execution capability, time-management skills, and multi-tasking
- Ability to quickly shift priorities in support of production needs
- Ability to use common hand tools, meters, gauges and other associated test and measurement equipment
- Ability to understand and follow instructions
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever changing environment
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Requires lifting, standing, kneeling, bending - getting in to and out of boats - up to 10 hours per day
- Must be able and willing to work in a non-climate controlled area
- Typical pay rate starts at $22 per hour.
