DescriptionA Children's Behavioral Health Nurse - RN is a frontline professional who influences patient care through collaborative relationships, professional practice councils, and national nursing initiatives. The role involves shaping decisions that elevate patient outcomes and advance the future of nursing within HCA Healthcare Live Oak Mental Health and Wellness.
Job Summary and QualificationsThe Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high‑quality, patient‑centered care consistent with state and specialty standards. In collaboration with medical providers and the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive care using the nursing model "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage," serves as an advocate for patients and families, and upholds the organization’s vision and values.
Responsibilities- Assesses patient condition during admission and each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s).
- Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests.
- Anticipates patient needs and resolves them proactively.
- Manages the quality of care by collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver a holistic patient treatment plan that promotes recovery.
- Serves as the interface between healthcare providers and community support systems to coordinate ongoing care needs for specialized patient groups.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date (RN).
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a Registered Nurse Diploma.
