Mechanic, Trades ​/ Skilled Labor

Job Responsibilities

• Supports reliable and efficient generating station operations by maintaining mechanical equipment, piping systems, and hydraulic and pneumatic power transmission systems in a state of operational readiness. Understands the hazards associated with job task assigned and follow safety rules, policies and procedures.
• Inspects, troubleshoots, assembles, installs and repairs steam, gas turbine and hydro generating equipment. Performs PM's on rotating and reciprocating equipment.
• Maintains transmission piping and associated equipment for air, hydraulic, lubrication oil and water.
• Fabricates and machines parts to close tolerances.
• Operates mobile/overhead cranes and forklifts. Rigs and lifts station equipment.
• Performs duties as lead man on projects and during major outages.
• Completes work order documentation including work performed, labor required and materials used.
• Maintains a 24-hour/day on-call status for emergency work at night, on weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Completes all safety and mandated training courses, both on-line and Instructor led.
• Aligns and balances rotating equipment.
• Fits and welds high pressure steam piping and boiler parts.
• Will consider Mechanic A or
  
  B.

• Mechanic A
• High school diploma/GED with courses in machine shop, welding, metal fabrication, mechanical repair, carpentry +5 years related experience required.
• Mechanic B
• High school diploma/GED with courses in machine shop, welding, metal fabrication, mechanical repair, carpentry +2 years related experience required.
