THE ROLE
We are currently hiring for a Fuel Pricing Analyst to join our Central Canada Fuel Department. The Fuel Pricing Analyst is responsible for meeting department objectives by developing and implementing fuel pricing strategies designed to achieve volume and profit goals. They will assist the operations team on all fuel-related issues and collaborate with operations and fuel sites to deliver on-site experience targets.
WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Maintains the fuel products pricing function by analyzing current market conditions, sales volumes, costs, competitive prices and supply forecast.
• Establishes retail fuel prices by determining relationships between change in price and profit; monitoring competitive reactions to price changes.
• Achieves pricing strategy goals of market share growth and profit by determining the relationship between pricing and volume, analyzing past sales performance, monitoring competitive pricing and cost data, sales budget and projected sales.
• Presents recommendations to management and utilizes input from operations team and monitors implementation.
• Maintains and updates databases, which provide pricing and site level information essential for daily
pricing decisions and analytical analysis of market elasticity.
• Conducts compliance audits on assigned areas to maintain performance metric with pricing strategies at a site level.
• Contributes to team by accomplishing financial and key result area targets pursuant to company plan
guidelines.
• Creates and submits daily, weekly and period fuel reports.
• Ability to effectively communicate with operations team as their primary fuels' liaison.
• Effectively driving fuel pricing initiatives through proactive coaching and guidance of operational teams.
• Works closely with operations team on achieving site experience targets across all fuel sites.
• Monitors market trends, regulatory changes, and tax adjustments to proactively adjust pricing strategies
• Administers site price changes and maintains fuel pricing system.
• Special projects to support objectives as required.
• Must be able to work flexible hours. Occasional weekends/holidays are required.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Education:
• Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in business or related field preferred. Combination of experience
and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
Experience:
• 1 - 3 years of data analytics experience or more preferred.
Knowledge and skills:
• Radical curiosity of retail and the constantly changing marketplace.
• Must be proficient in MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Working knowledge of Power BI is an asset
