Job Summary
The EO operates equipment to include: frontend loader with bucket, 12k forklift or smaller with rotator, bobcat, and skid steer. Operators are to follow all Sims safety regulations and golden rules. The operator will provide pre‑shift and end‑of‑shift inspections and is responsible for greasing and daily upkeep of equipment and work areas.
- This job requires working a weekly 2nd shift schedule from 4:00 pm to 2:30 am on Monday to Thursday.
- This job requires working outdoors daily, including inclement weather (Cold, Heat, Rain, Snow, etc.).
- This job requires prior heavy equipment operator experience with either a front‑end loader, a bobcat, or a skid steer.
- Performs routine maintenance on the loader, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
- Completes inspection report prior to using equipment.
- Safely operates machinery under the direction of the shift supervisor or production manager. Loads trucks, piles scrap material, loads/unloads barges and rail cars.
- End‑of‑shift clean‑up and equipment inspection.
- Regularly cleans equipment to preserve its quality and functionality.
- Commits to the overall safety of the work environment.
- Sweeps and shovels residual waste from the process.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Heavy Equipment Operator experience with either a front‑end loader, a bobcat, or a skid steer.
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Valid Driver's license.
- Minimum of 12 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
