Position SummaryThe Manager, Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) leads the site's EHS strategy, programs, compliance, and culture while aligning with Architectural Metals and Apogee EHS priorities. This role partners closely with site leadership, Operations, HR, Maintenance, Quality, Corporate EHS, and Segment EHS to reduce risk, strengthen accountability, improve systems, and build a proactive safety and environmental culture.
Key Responsibilities Site EHS Strategy and LeadershipLead the site EHS strategy deployment, programs, and culture while translating Architectural Metals and Apogee EHS priorities into practical site actions.
Develop and execute a multi-year EHS roadmap aligned with business objectives, operational priorities, and enterprise EHS strategy, ensuring sustainable risk reduction and performance improvement.
Drive implementation of strategic EHS initiatives by establishing clear priorities, milestones, accountability, and measures of success.
Partner with site leadership to identify risks, prioritize improvements, and strengthen ownership for safety and environmental performance.
Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the plant leadership team, influencing decision‑making and integrating EHS considerations into business, operational, and capital planning processes.
Build strong partnerships across all levels of the organization to foster shared accountability and leadership ownership of EHS performance.
Influence and coach leaders at all levels to strengthen EHS leadership behaviors, drive accountability, and sustain a high‑performance safety culture.
Implement and maintain site EHS programs, policies, and procedures consistent with company and regulatory requirements.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, State DNR, and other applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
Manage site environmental programs, including waste, air, water, stormwater, and hazardous materials, as applicable.
Prepare and maintain required site permits, reports, records, and documentation.
Lead incident reviews, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and follow‑up with a focus on understanding contributing factors, improving systems, and preventing recurrence.
Facilitate EHS training and communication that builds employee awareness, leader capability, accountability, and a proactive approach to prevention.
Track and report site EHS metrics, trends, corrective actions, and improvement plans.
Partner with Operations, HR, Maintenance, Quality, Corporate EHS, and Segment EHS to integrate EHS expectations into daily work, leadership routines, employee communication, audits, and improvement initiatives.
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or other relevant EHS certification.
5+ years of EHS experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Experience leading site-level EHS programs; multi-site exposure is a plus.
Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
Ability to influence leaders and employees, build trust, drive accountability, and support a learning‑oriented safety culture.
Strong communication, problem‑solving, organization, and project management skills.
