Senior Process Engineer – Monett, MO
We are seeking a skilled Senior Process Engineer to join our dynamic team at Schreiber Foods. Your focus will be on upstream dairy processes, optimizing blending, standardization, heat treatment, filtration, and sanitation. You will collaborate across Production Operations, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Reliability Engineering, Controls/Capital Engineering, Operations Excellence, and Supply Chain to drive continuous improvement and maintain product quality.
Responsibilities- Subject matter expert in fluid‑related process engineering and provide day‑to‑day process engineering support.
- Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, capability, risk, and cost.
- Develop and drive engineering strategies around processing line capability, capacity, and optimization aligned with organizational priorities.
- Design and implement improvements to increase yield, reduce waste, shorten cycle times, eliminate bottlenecks, and streamline operations while maintaining strict food safety standards.
- Collaborate with Operations Excellence and Data Science/Analytics teams to leverage data for process optimization.
- Lead or assist in the development of new equipment installations or modifications, from concept to commissioning, to maximize output, minimize downtime, and reduce operational risk.
- Perform process‑capability studies to predict manufacturing trends, meet customer specifications, and ensure operational stability.
- Collaborate with Project Engineers on capital projects—scoping, budgeting, scheduling, construction planning, downtime planning, risk mitigation, and equipment qualification.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including process manuals, plant P&IDs, CCP definitions, SOPs, and equipment specifications, while sharing best practices.
- Co‑operate with leadership to ensure compliance with Food Safety and Food Quality Plans and customer requirements.
- Interpret and communicate customer requirements to production and support groups.
- Establish and audit PCPs, CCPs, and SOPs to monitor processes and verify customer requirements are met.
- Review incidents of non‑compliance and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical or Process Engineering preferred).
- Master’s degree is a plus but not required.
- 8+ years of engineering experience, preferably in food or beverage manufacturing.
- Professional Engineer (PE) designation is a plus but not required.
- Experience in fluid‑related processing or equivalent.
- Knowledge of FDA/USDA regulations and regulated food and beverage processes.
- Technical expertise in aseptic processing, heat treatment, filtration, separation, and blending.
- Ability to execute medium‑size capital projects, redesign equipment, and improve process flows.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and quality management systems (HACCP, GMP, QMS, etc.).
- Solid understanding of process safety, safe design, and hazard assessment (OSHA, HAZOP, LOPA, etc.).
- Experience performing FMEA, CIP, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics in the dairy industry.
- Proficiency in developing P& (AutoCAD) and PID loop tuning for current and new process designs.
- Travel up to 10% of the time.
- $10,000 relocation bonus and a relocation package for relocation over 50 miles.
