Our client, a leading global food manufacturer, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join its engineering team at a high-volume production facility in Monett, Missouri. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys improving manufacturing processes, optimizing equipment performance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
In this role, you’ll partner with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Reliability Engineering, Controls Engineering, Operations Excellence, Supply Chain, and Data Analytics teams to improve manufacturing performance, increase process capability, reduce operational risk, and support new product introductions. You’ll have the opportunity to make a measurable impact on plant performance while working on capital projects, equipment optimization, and data-driven process improvements.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and cost.
- Design and implement process improvements that increase throughput, improve yield, reduce waste, eliminate bottlenecks, and optimize cycle times.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence.
- Support new product launches by ensuring seamless integration into existing manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with Maintenance and Reliability Engineering to improve equipment reliability, maximize uptime, and implement predictive maintenance strategies.
- Lead or support equipment installations, process modifications, and capital improvement projects from concept through commissioning.
- Analyze production data using statistical methods to identify trends, reduce process variation, and improve overall manufacturing performance.
- Conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and implement solutions that reduce operational risk and improve process reliability.
- Develop process control plans, Statistical Process Control (SPC), process capability studies, and measurement systems to ensure consistent manufacturing performance.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues using structured root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
- Evaluate equipment, tooling, automation, and materials to improve manufacturing efficiency and long-term reliability.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, customer, and regulatory requirements while supporting plant quality systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related engineering discipline.
- 2-5 years of manufacturing engineering experience in a production environment.
- Experience in food manufacturing is preferred but not required. Candidates from other manufacturing industries with strong process improvement experience are encouraged to apply.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, SPC, and process capability studies is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of quality systems, manufacturing best practices, and regulated production environments.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, maintenance, and quality teams.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
