Welder / MIG/MAG/TIG, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Position Overview
Under general supervision, the welder is responsible for producing high-quality welds on galvanized thin wall steel and/or black steel components using MIG welding equipment. Welders will interpret layouts, welding diagrams, and work orders to create strong, smooth, and visually appealing welds that meet our exacting standards.
Responsibilities- Ability to square up and weld various geometries of components
- Understands various weld form symbols
- Ability to weld vertical, horizontal, flat and overhead welds with precision
- Ability to accurately read tape measure and blueprints
- Understands the process of prepping for finish by checking for pinholes in the weld, weld spatter on the part and eliminating sharp edges
- Ability to inspect finished product, parts or units for conformance to print and all clean up detail
- Maintain assigned area and equipment in safe and functional order
- Welders may provide cross-functional fabricator duties as assigned
- Perform operator daily preventive maintenance on tools and equipment
- Assist with fabrication tasks as assigned
- Perform daily housekeeping / 5S
- Ability to pass a demonstrated weld test
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
- Prefer one to three years related manufacturing experience
- Previous weld experience is required
- Must pass a weld symbol and demonstration test
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
- Ability to read and interpret basic documents, safety rules and other correspondence
- Ability to count and measure equipment using a tape measure
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to perform duties with direction
- Demonstrates blueprint reading skills
- Demonstrates ability to complete all paperwork necessary for the position
- Ensure facility maintenance through housekeeping, keeping product and facility secure, and maintaining the assets of the facility
Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at a level determined in the company handbook. Must be available and willing to work overtime hours and weekends/holidays as needed to meet business needs.
Working ConditionsMay be exposed to noise in production area. Schedule is shift‑based. Consistently required to stand, walk, use hands, talk, and hear. Physical demands include frequent lifting and/or carrying 50 lbs. and pushing or pulling 25–50 lbs.
3rd Shift – Monday through Thursday, 5pm‑3:30am with overtime as needed.
Position is onsite and not remote eligible.
CompensationCompensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications, aligning with industry standards. Salary range is based on geographical market standards for the region. Bonus opportunities may exist at the company’s discretion.
