CI Intern

Position Summary

This position supports the tactical buying function across Apogee Architectural Metals, assisting the tactical buyers in day-to-day actions while leading an assigned project.

• Assist in the development and monitoring of production labor standards to drive process efficiency.
• Participate in the daily production management system, including the development and execution of actions such as Gemba Walks and Tiered production management.
• Assist with improvement projects, such as facility layout, material flow, and process optimization.
• Assist in the development of process documentation, including SOPs and Work Instructions.
• Participate in structured improvement events, including Kaizen blitz events.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.

• College student majoring in a related engineering or manufacturing discipline.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• AutoCAD and Solidworks experience is desirable.
• Ability to contribute in a team-based problem-solving environment.
• Ability to write process documentation.
• Ability to analyze problems and provide/implement improvement recommendations.
• Familiarity with LEAN tools and principles is desirable.
• Regular exposure to a production environment, including hands‑on project implementation.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

The majority of the time will be spent in an office environment with occasional visits to the manufacturing floor. Some travel may be required.
