Job Description
Maintenance Electrician – Manufacturing & Operations, Float (United States). Responsible for advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment reliability in a food‑production environment.
Technician Levels & Electives- Level 2 – Advanced technician required to perform complex maintenance activities, problem solving, critical thinking, and process‑improvement initiatives. Must understand materials, train peers, develop work instructions, drawings, and diagrams.
- Electives – Specialty areas that a partner may develop advanced skills in. Electives are requested or required based on company needs, skill set, and interest. Partners proficient in elective areas may train others and be assigned work requiring those skills. Most positions require general proficiency at Level 1 for elective areas.
- Perform all process CP, CCP, QP, and CQP checks required for the position and follow reaction plans for Food Safety, Food Quality, and customer deviations.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices, good housekeeping, safety guidelines, and wear designated PPE. Conform to regulatory requirements and assure Food Safety measures are followed.
- Perform maintenance work within the allocated time, documenting all work and parts used in the CMMS.
- Modify, fabricate, and upgrade production equipment per process change procedures. Perform corrective work as assigned.
- Implement preventive maintenance tasks using preventive and predictive techniques to generate corrective work requests and improve equipment reliability.
- Use predictive tools such as ultrasonic, infrared, oil analysis, vibration analysis, and laser alignment tools.
- Conduct troubleshooting and repair activities.
- Identify parts, supplies, and tools needed for follow‑up corrective work.
- Track and report relevant performance metrics to aid in action‑plan development.
- Continue training for certification levels and stay current in maintenance techniques.
- Use and apply Oracle eAM to generate reports for budget and work planning.
- Software and Visual Work Instruction:
Use eAM CMMS and VWI’s proficiently, providing input for improvement. - Print Use – Modify schematics or blueprints using CAD, AutoCAD, and other methods.
- Process Equipment – Perform complex repair and diagnosis of process equipment.
- Troubleshooting – Perform complex system troubleshooting using advanced tools.
- Electrical, Controllers, and Instruments – Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and controllers;
Master’s electrician license preferred. - PLC Operation – Maintain and troubleshoot PLC programming and communications following change‑management standards.
- Guard Logix and Safety Circuits – Understand and maintain safety I/O and distributed safety systems.
- HAZWOPER (Level 2‑3 elective) – Lead safety meetings.
- Precision Measurement and Machining – Machine parts to specified tolerances.
- Electrical, Controllers, and Instruments (Level 2‑3 elective) – Specify parts such as VFDs, motor controllers, or instrumentation independently.
- Pneumatics and Hydraulics – Repair electromechanical issues on pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Lubrication, Bearings, and Seals – Change bearings on conveyors and equipment following VWI/OEM documentation.
- Fasteners, Tools – Use appropriate meters for troubleshooting electrical or electromechanical components.
- Drives and Transmissions – Verify settings in motor controllers based on nameplate or OEM data.
- Air compressors, dryers, and boilers – Understand hazards and equipment types.
- Hot and cold water systems – Understand system purpose and functionality.
- Engine room systems – Understand system purpose and hazards.
- Air handlers – Read associated schematics and identify basic electrical/electromechanical components.
- Ammonia systems – Identify and correct electrical/electromechanical issues; understand hazards.
- Plant utilities – Use one‑line drawings to isolate major electrical components; understand water supply and shut‑off systems.
- Alarm systems – Locate and read trouble codes, communicate effectively, and perform basic reset commands.
