Job Overview
The Machine Operator II is an intermediate-level position in a manufacturing environment responsible for operating and maintaining more complex machinery with minimal supervision. This role involves setting up machines, monitoring their operation, and ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently. The Machine Operator II is expected to produce high-quality products by following precise specifications and contributing to the overall success of the production process.
Key Responsibilities- Proficiency in operating more complex machinery, including CNC machines or multi-axis machines.
- Ability to set up machines, including selecting and installing the appropriate tools and making adjustments for different jobs.
- Understanding of technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure products meet exact standards.
- Ability to perform more advanced maintenance and troubleshooting tasks, including adjusting machine settings to correct issues.
- Strong attention to detail and precision to ensure products meet quality and production standards.
- Read and understand blueprints, part drawing packages, cutting lists, line plans, programs, blocking standards and set‑up sheets to produce error‑free parts within tolerances.
- Use all required measurement tools to measure acceptable quality tolerances.
- Check first part for accuracy, quality, and fit‑up and then every five parts thereafter; take corrective action to make acceptable parts.
- Be cross‑trained and able to support all Operator I & II roles.
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–3 years of experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to use and accurately read measuring devices (tape measures).
- Ability to use hand tools (hammer, wrench, level, etc.).
- Ability to follow blueprints and interpret work instructions and standard operating procedures.

The position is based in a manufacturing facility, which may involve exposure to loud noises, varying temperatures, and dust from production processes. Associates will frequently work near or with machinery with moving parts, following strict safety protocols. The facility operates on shift schedules with potential for overtime, including weekends, based on production needs. This environment emphasizes team collaboration and adherence to safety regulations to ensure the well-being of all associates.
