A day in your role

It’s 7:00 a.m. in Monett, MO. You power up a Mazak VMC, verify the setup, load the program, and make a first‑article cut. Throughout the day, you translate blueprints and work orders into precise components, watch tool wear, fine‑tune offsets, and keep every feature within spec. Between runs, you handle routine maintenance, clear chips, and keep the cell spotless. When something looks off, you troubleshoot quickly, correct the issue, and document findings for your supervisor.

Along the way, you collaborate with teammates to streamline setups and shave time from the cycle—without sacrificing quality.

Core responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC machines to produce precision parts that meet specification.

Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders accurately.

Monitor machining operations and adjust parameters to maintain quality and consistency.

Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on CNC equipment.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safety‑compliant work area.

Collaborate with team members to improve processes and overall efficiency.

Document production data and promptly communicate issues to supervisors.

What you bring

High school diploma or equivalent; a machining technical certificate or degree is a plus.

Proven experience as a CNC machinist or closely related role.

Fluent in reading blueprints and technical drawings.

Strong understanding of CNC machinery and programming concepts.

Keen attention to detail and strong problem‑solving ability.

Comfortable working independently and within a team environment.

Clear communication skills and a commitment to safety.
