Excellent opportunity for a small animal practitioner in southwest Missouri!
- Growing small animal caseload with commission potential for the right experienced DVM
- Soft tissue surgery skills valued and rewarded - top-of-range compensation for surgical capability
- A rural practice with a genuinely talented, tenured support team behind you
Monett, MO is looking for an experienced small animal veterinarian ready to make an immediate impact - with a caseload strong enough to support commission and a support team that punches well above what you’d expect in a rural setting. If you’ve got soft tissue surgery skills and want a practice that’s actively investing in its next chapter, this is worth a conversation.
(Comfortable with large animal cases too? Even better - we’d welcome that.)
The Animal Clinic of Monett has been in the community since 1989, founded by Drs. Ted and Carol Dahlstrom. Dr. Ted’s expertise and deep ties to Southwest Missouri’s cattle community, along with his devotion to clients, have been the driving legacy of ACM.
Dr. John Harper (Missouri ‘88) joined ACM in 1994 and is easily recognized by his signature cowboy hat and boots. A versatile mixed animal practitioner, he is especially skilled in small animal orthopedic surgery and loves caring for horses and cattle.
Dr. John Tyra joined ACM in 2010 after graduating from Mississippi State University. Raised on a farm in Guntown, Mississippi, he specializes in beef and dairy production medicine and bovine reproduction - and is now stepping into the practice leadership role Dr. Ted built, continuing ACM’s commitment to a highly collaborative team.
Dr. Rachael Kluppel joined ACM this year as a new graduate of Mississippi State University (Class of 2026), bringing fresh energy and enthusiasm to the team as she begins her veterinary career. One to two additional new-grad associates are expected to join the practice in spring 2027, continuing ACM’s investment in growing the next generation of talent.
ACM is in an exciting season of growth. As part of our partnership with Heritage Vet Partners, a certified executive coach has been working directly with our team to support strong leadership and a positive, forward-looking culture through this transition - an investment that reflects how seriously we take both our people and our clients.
Our technicians and administrative support team are especially strong for a rural practice - experienced, capable, and a real reason our doctors can focus on medicine rather than managing every detail themselves.
We believe that relationships are crucial for success and are truly blessed to have clients who are progressive, trusting, and willing to go the extra mile. We have built the practice on mutual respect and a shared desire for positive outcomes.
