Equipment Operator

The Equipment Operator plays a critical role in the efficient and safe operation of heavy and agricultural equipment supporting land application operations throughout the Monett, MO area. This position is responsible for operating a tractor and buggy setup for land application while ensuring equipment is maintained and operating safely. When equipment is not in use, this role assists with equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, and maintaining storage sites to support daily operations.

The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining equipment, and is willing to perform a variety of hands-on tasks. Experience with farm equipment, mechanical repairs, and welding is a plus; however, we are willing to train the right individual who has a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. This position typically works Sunday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, although start and end times may vary based on weather conditions and operational needs.

Performs various project tasks requiring the safe operation of heavy and agricultural equipment, including but not limited to tractors, buggy systems, front-end loaders, skid steers, track hoes, and bulldozers. This position primarily operates a tractor and buggy setup for land application and is also responsible for performing routine mechanical work, preventative maintenance on equipment, and maintaining storage sites during periods when equipment is not operating.

Essential functions and responsibilities include:

  • Safely operate tractors, buggy systems, and other heavy/agricultural equipment.
  • Perform land application activities efficiently and safely.
  • Load, unload, and transport materials to approved destinations.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Perform basic mechanical repairs and troubleshooting on equipment.
  • Assist with maintaining and organizing storage sites and equipment yards.
  • Perform shop cleanup, maintenance, and equipment/tool setup.
  • Maintain accurate operational records.
  • Serve as a company ambassador in every interaction with customers and the public.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include:

  • Ability to safely operate heavy and agricultural equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting abilities.
  • Welding experience is a plus but not required.
  • Farm equipment experience is preferred.
  • Ability to perform basic math.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills.

Qualifications include:

  • Experience operating heavy or agricultural equipment.
  • Mechanical experience preferred.
  • Farm equipment experience preferred.
  • Welding skills are a plus.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Dump truck and/or yard jockey experience is a plus but not required.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and varying schedules based on weather and operational demands.
  • We are willing to train the right candidate.

Education and experience include:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Class A or Class B CDL preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of heavy equipment operating experience preferred.
  • Clean MVR required.

Working conditions/physical requirements include:

  • Sitting, climbing, balancing, reaching, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, talking, hearing, and seeing.
  • Work performed outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Exposure to confined spaces, atmospheric conditions, moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical hazards, high heat, and bio-solids.
  • Overtime is required as needed to complete daily operations.

Typical schedule:

  • Sunday through Friday
  • 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Hours may vary depending on weather conditions and operational needs.
