Job Title: Seasonal Tax Professional – Experienced Tax Specialist

Location: Salem, OR

Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 (seasonal)

Join H&R Block this season as an Experienced Tax Professional. You will serve clients with diverse tax needs and build lasting relationships while receiving advanced tax training.

• Conduct tax interviews with clients face‑to‑face and through virtual tools (video, phone, chat, email)
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns
• Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services
• Provide clients with IRS support and audit representation as needed
• Mentor and support teammates in a fast‑paced environment

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• CPA or Enrolled Agent certification
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax
• Experience completing complex returns (individual, trust, partnership)
• Experience conducting virtual tax interviews
• Experience with tax planning and audit support
• Sales and/or marketing experience (optional but preferred)

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Experience working in a fast‑paced environment
• Comfort with virtual tools (video, phone, chat)
• Ability to communicate effectively in person, via phone and in writing
• High school diploma or equivalent required; higher degree a plus
• Meet all IRS and applicable state requirements; complete ongoing education
