SEND Teacher

Are you looking for a new position supporting students with special educational needs and being part of a highly effective multi‑disciplinary team?

About the role

Due to expansion, we are looking to appoint an experienced and professional SEND Teacher to join our team at Llangattock School Monmouth. You’ll have an enthusiasm for supporting learners with additional needs, teaching with a positive and inclusive outlook, and managing complex behaviours within a structured learning environment, to ensure differently‑abled learners can reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities for a SEN Teacher
  • To ensure safeguarding of all young people underpins every decision made
  • To plan, prepare and deliver high quality lessons, demonstrating outstanding teaching and learning
  • To contribute to our culture of continual improvement and high standards in teaching through coaching, team-teaching, and demonstrating excellence
  • To ensure effective pastoral care of all children in the school including – wellbeing is our first core aim
  • To ensure high standards of teaching and learning across the core curriculum subjects
  • To identify strategies to overcome individual pupils’ barriers to learning
  • To contribute to the Annual Review of EHCPs
  • To attend PEP reviews, if necessary
Essential Requirements for a SEN Teacher Qualification and Experience
  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Degree qualification or equivalent
  • An excellent teacher
  • Experience as a KS2/KS3/KS4 teacher
  • The ability to teach across a range of curriculum subjects, including English, Maths and Science
