Title:
Child Care Education Assistant – Monroe Early Learning Center
Demonstrate aptitude and competence for assigned responsibilities.
Reports to:
Dawn Ryan, Director of MELC
Summary:
Responsible for the operation and instructional leadership at a daycare or preschool facility.
- Manage day-to-day activities at a preschool and daycare
- Create instructional resources for use in the classroom
- Develop academic programs
- Maintain rapport with parents
- Work actively with teachers to maintain high curriculum standards, proper attire and professional attitude
- Establish performance goals and objectives
- Explain or answer procedural questions to director
- Visit classrooms and observe teaching methods
- Examine learning materials
- Review instructional objectives and adjust accordingly
- Meet with other administrators to maintain proper preschool and daycare guidelines
Minimum Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Operate standard office equipment and follow instructional lead in a daycare/preschool facility
- Concepts of grammar and punctuation; business telephone etiquette; common office machines
- Be punctual, responsible for part-time hours; maintain a professional attitude and appearance
- Work with a diversity of individuals and/or groups; handle data; utilize job-related equipment
- Problem solving to identify issues and create action plans; interpret data independently
- Communicate with diverse groups including children; maintain a safe environment; maintain confidentiality; meet deadlines and schedules; set priorities; work as part of a team; work with constant interruptions
Working under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; providing information and/or advising others; operating within a defined budget; utilizing resources from other work units; ongoing impact on organization services.
Work EnvironmentPhysical demands include lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling; 80% standing, 10% walking, 10% sitting.
Experience RequiredJob-related experience required.
EducationHigh School Diploma or College Degree, if applicable.
