CNC Machine Operator

Location:

Monroe, CT

Pay Rate: $20.00 – $30.00 per hour

Schedules: 2nd Shift | Monday – Friday | 5:00 PM – 1:00 AM Weekend Shift | Friday – Monday | 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Training for 1 week on 1st shift

CNC Machine Operator Requirements
  • Knowledge of machine shop equipment and machining practices (hands-on experience is a plus).
  • Technical school training or on-the-job machining experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow directions closely.
Job Duties
  • Preparing and operating CNC machines to perform precise drilling, milling, and grinding tasks.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings to understand specifications.
  • Translating technical instructions into accurate computer commands for machine operation.
  • Loading raw materials and setting up machines for production.
  • Running test pieces to ensure all outputs meet quality and dimensional standards.
  • Monitoring machine performance and making adjustments as needed to maintain optimal results.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized workspace and following all safety and quality procedures.

What You Will Do As a CNC Machine Operator you will set up, operate, monitor, and adjust CNC machining equipment to manufacture precision components according to engineering specifications. You will verify machine setups, inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments, troubleshoot machining issues, maintain tooling, and support quality and production goals while following established safety and manufacturing procedures.

A CNC Machine Operator manufactures precision components using computer numerical control (CNC) equipment to produce consistent, high-quality parts. This role combines technical knowledge, mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail to support modern manufacturing operations.

Successful CNC Machine Operator professionals understand machining principles, blueprint interpretation, tooling selection, machine setup, and dimensional inspection while maintaining tight tolerances and production efficiency. Accuracy and craftsmanship are essential to producing reliable finished components.
